CAD Engineer
Role Summary
Work within Broadcom Central Engineering to develop and support CAD tool flows for advanced process nodes. Provide hands-on CAD infrastructure work, including tool flow development, layout/design issue resolution, and productivity automation.
Experience Level
Mid-level β 4+ years of relevant CAD/EDA experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include day-to-day CAD/tool support, development and maintenance of flows and automation, and user support.
- Provide hands-on support for design and layout issues.
- Develop, maintain, and improve CAD utilities and automation.
- Develop or maintain Calibre DRC/LVS decks for advanced FinFET nodes.
- Create and maintain CAD PDK environments, including tool installations and layout environment customization (Skill or similar).
- Support EDA flows for circuit simulation, EMIR, and aging using tools such as Spectre and HSPICE.
- Provide block-level place-and-route support and collect PPA metrics.
- Participate in evaluation, QA, testing, releases, documentation, and user training.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 4+ years of CAD/EDA experience.
- Strong programming and scripting skills for automation.
- User-level familiarity with CAD/EDA tools and workflows.
- Experience across CAD support phases: evaluation, QA, testing, release, support, and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, multitasking skills, and attention to detail.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
