BT - Design Verification Sr Lead Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification for Bluetooth hardware IP and sub-systems for Qualcomm wireless SoC products. Develop verification strategy, build and maintain testbenches, drive verification closure, and coordinate with design, systems, SoC, validation and firmware teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typically requires 6+ years of VLSI design verification experience (6–10 years preferred).

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification planning, execution, and closure for assigned IP/blocks.

• Define verification plans and strategies based on hardware specifications.
• Design and implement SV/UVM testbenches; develop constraint-random and directed tests.
• Perform RTL debug and collaborate with design teams during pre-silicon bring-up.
• Use simulation, emulation, lint/GLS and formal techniques to achieve verification closure.
• Estimate effort, identify and mitigate risks, and track verification progress.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and new hires.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Systems, SoC integration, Validation and Firmware groups.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• 6+ years of VLSI design verification experience with ownership of IP/block/sub-system verification.
• Strong knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Proven experience writing efficient constraint-random tests and building/maintaining SV/UVM environments.
• Strong RTL/testbench debugging skills using Verdi or similar tools.
• Experience with functional/code coverage, SystemVerilog Assertions, Verification IP integration and SoC integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to Bluetooth/BLE hardware architecture.
• Scripting experience in Perl and/or Python.
• Experience with formal verification and emulation platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics, VLSI, Communications, or a related engineering field.
