Job Title

BIOS Technical Leader (IC role)

Role Summary

Lead technical firmware efforts for AMD server platforms, coordinating across firmware, SoC, and architecture teams to design and deliver platform BIOS across pre‑chip and post‑chip phases.

Work closely with AGESA, GPU/Core teams and other stakeholders to define, implement and validate firmware features across AMD rack levels.

Experience Level

Senior — the role targets experienced firmware engineers; preferred experience is 8+ years in BIOS/firmware development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, coordination, and hands‑on firmware work:

  • Provide in‑depth technical analysis and engineering support for BIOS and platform firmware.
  • Coordinate with AGESA to advance CPU insight patch validation on compute trays.
  • Participate in firmware development and status reviews to align deliverables with FW‑TPM and schedule requirements.
  • Consult with internal and external clients on AMD feature implementations and programming requirements.
  • Review BIOS source code, diagnose issues, and work directly with BIOS engineers to resolve technical problems.
  • Drive integration and validation of RAS and platform firmware features across rack levels.

Requirements

Must‑have and preferred technical qualifications:

  • Must‑have: Strong BIOS/firmware engineering experience and ability to read and discuss BIOS source code with engineers.
  • Must‑have: Experience with AMI or EDK2 firmware architectures.
  • Must‑have: Familiarity with x86 architecture and platform firmware concepts.
  • Must‑have: Experience implementing or validating RAS features in firmware.
  • Nice‑to‑have: Experience with BMC SoC and embedded Linux feature implementation.
  • Nice‑to‑have: Prior work coordinating AGESA or platform firmware teams and schedules.
  • Other: Strong technical communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; ability to work independently in fast‑paced environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
