Job Title
Bench Test Lead Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and maintain laboratory-based validation and characterization solutions for semiconductor devices and IP. Lead bench-level electrical validation, measurement automation, data analysis, and silicon debug activities.
The role partners with design, product, and ATE teams across multiple sites to define validation methodologies, correlate bench and ATE results, and improve lab infrastructure and automation.
Experience Level
Senior (lead-level). Years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include bench validation, automation, measurement, and cross-team collaboration.
- Develop and execute bench-level validation and characterization plans for semiconductor devices and IP.
- Design, automate, and maintain measurement setups using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
- Perform electrical characterization with oscilloscopes, SMUs, AWGs, power supplies, and signal generators.
- Develop scripts and data-processing frameworks to collect, analyze, and visualize measurement results.
- Investigate and debug silicon issues; identify root causes and drive corrective actions with design teams.
- Correlate bench measurements with ATE test results to ensure performance and test coverage.
- Define validation methodologies, test procedures, and characterization plans with product and design engineering.
- Document test setups, measurement procedures, results, and technical conclusions.
- Ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and data integrity.
- Support silicon bring-up, early product validation, and continuous improvement of lab infrastructure and automation frameworks.
Requirements
Core technical and interpersonal requirements. Education details are listed separately below.
-
Must-have: Strong understanding of electronics and measurement techniques.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, SMUs, signal generators, AWGs, power supplies).
-
Must-have: Programming experience in Python and/or LabVIEW for automation and data processing.
-
Must-have: Data analysis and debugging capabilities; ability to correlate measurements with ATE results.
-
Must-have: Ability to work in multicultural, cross-site teams and communicate technical results clearly; good English proficiency.
-
Nice-to-have: Semiconductor device characterization experience and knowledge of mixed-signal or high-speed measurements.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with automation frameworks, data acquisition systems, ATE correlation, and basic IC design/semiconductor process knowledge.
Education Requirements
