Role Summary
Join the System Incubator team to define and develop demos, proofs-of-concept, and system solutions using NXP automotive chips and software. Responsibilities
The role combines systems engineering, software integration, and hardware validation to produce demonstrable automotive solutions.
- Define and build demos, proof-of-concepts, and system solutions using NXP automotive hardware and software.
- Develop and integrate software components to enable application PoCs and system studies.
- Work on applications such as ADAS, in-vehicle networks, connectivity modules, IVI, and E/E vehicle architectures.
- Explore and apply automotive standards, analysis and simulation tools, and novel system solutions.
- Validate prototypes on hardware evaluation boards and correlate simulation/analysis results with hardware measurements.
- Debug complex multi-hardware system setups and drive issues to resolution with teammates and partners.
- Prepare and present analysis, visualizations, and experiment data to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other NXP teams and external partners as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience:
- Software engineering experience on embedded platforms: modern C++, embedded C, and Python.
- Experience with Linux, CI/CD infrastructure, and test automation.
- Experience with code review and team-based software development.
- Practical knowledge of automotive communication standards; hands-on experience with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) Ethernet and YANG.
- Experience with ARM-based embedded automotive processors and automotive network devices.
- Hands-on experience with hardware evaluation boards and building board support packages, kernels, and images.
- Ability to correlate simulation/analysis results with hardware evaluation outcomes.
- Software architecture capability to plan integration of new features into existing codebases.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle-level simulation tools such as OMNEST, ChronSIM, or Pegase.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills; able to work in multicultural teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Electronics design experience to assist in HW–SW integration issues.
- Experience with timing simulation tools and other automotive analysis/simulator tools.
- Familiarity with open-source self-driving software and automotive use cases.
- Experience with NXP S32 automotive devices and configuration tools (e.g., S32 Design Studio).
- General familiarity with the semiconductor or automotive industry.
Education Requirements
University (of applied sciences) degree such as BSc, MSc, PDEng, or PhD in a technical discipline (examples: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technologies) or an equivalent relevant qualification or practical experience.
