Job Title

Automotive Product Engineer

Role Summary

Support new-product introduction (NPI) to production for automotive SoC products. Work within Product and Test Engineering to validate, characterize, and develop manufacturing test solutions, perform return-material analysis, and support customer issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, system and hardware design, test, operations) to drive products to commercialization and high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” 0+ years of experience (suitable for recent graduates or candidates with internship/academic experience).

Responsibilities

Deliver test and product engineering tasks across validation, characterization, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Develop, run, and debug ATE test programs and lab validation setups.
  • Characterize silicon across PVT corners and correlate system-to-silicon results.
  • Design and implement production test solutions to improve yield, test time, and product quality.
  • Perform root-cause and return-material analysis for field or customer issues.
  • Apply data analytics and AI/ML tools to analyze test results and support engineering decisions.
  • Write detailed technical documentation, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, software, and operations teams to meet schedules.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment and communicate technical findings clearly.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required; preferred skills listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Hands-on, academic, or internship experience with Automated Test Equipment, lab validation, or production test.
  • Experience with programming or scripting (Python, C, C++, Java, assembly, C#, embedded software, or similar).
  • Familiarity with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic/spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies, etc.).
  • Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize silicon validation or production test data.
  • Practical exposure to test hardware, test software, lab debug, schematic review, or circuit simulation.
  • Effective teamwork and clear verbal and written technical communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Advantest V93000/93K, Teradyne, or similar ATE platforms.
  • Knowledge of SoC validation, digital/VLSI concepts, CPU architecture, device physics, and structural test methods (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST).
  • Familiarity with CPU/logic test, ATPG, memory interfaces, SRAM/DRAM, high-speed SerDes, sensor validation, or mixed-signal measurements (ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, etc.).
  • Experience with data analysis tools (JMP, NI tools, Exensio, Excel, Python data libraries).
  • Familiarity with ARM, microcontrollers, embedded systems, and common OS/RTOS environments.
  • Exposure to automotive semiconductor validation, reliability requirements, or production test support for automotive applications.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in the same disciplines. (No specific certifications or explicit "equivalent experience" language provided.)
