Automotive Module Product Engineer
Role Summary
Work within the Automotive Product and Test Engineering group to support verification, validation, characterization, and production readiness of SoC-based automotive modules (IVI, ADAS, Telematics). The role focuses on new product introduction (NPI), test platform bring-up, failure analysis, and cross-functional engineering support.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career β 0β3 years of relevant experience in system or bench-level testing, embedded systems, or silicon validation.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include hardware and software test development, manufacturing readiness, and troubleshooting to drive products into production.
- Bring up and validate system-level test (SLT) hardware platforms and handler solutions.
- Develop, automate, and integrate software test modules and test sequences.
- Create and execute test strategies and test plans; optimize modules for stability and temperature variation.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform debug and failure analysis, and conduct systems correlation for power and thermal behavior.
- Evaluate and qualify hardware and manufacturing solutions to meet customer schedules and quality targets.
- Document technical work and communicate results to cross-functional teams and customers.
- Contribute to reliability assessments, automation, and test optimization for manufacturing yield and throughput.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for effective performance in this role.
- 0β3 years experience in system- or bench-level testing, preferably in mobile, automotive, IoT, or microprocessor domains.
- Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS).
- Experience with embedded systems and SoC-level testing concepts; ability to develop/execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal, and power performance.
- Experience reading specifications, creating test plans, and using test sequencers.
- Familiarity with source control systems (Perforce or Git).
- Programming skills in one or more languages: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
- Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data and to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach, or Trace32.
- Knowledge of Android system architecture and boot process.
- Familiarity with system-level benchmarks (e.g., Dhrystone, DOU) and prior academic projects or internships in silicon validation or hardware bring-up.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in those fields.
