Automotive MCU CPU System Engineer

Role Summary

This role involves enhancing CPU architecture design for next-generation microcontrollers/SoC products. The engineer will be responsible for CPU architecture and system design based on quantitative KPIs, from planning to system evaluation, impacting the competitiveness of the products.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Developing architecture policy based on CPU architecture KPIs (performance, power, area, scalability)
• Planning and conducting PPA (Performance/Power/Area) benchmarks and analyzing results
• Designing and constructing system configurations including CPU, memory, and peripheral IP according to target application requirements
• Organizing trade-offs in architecture and system configurations, providing proposals based on technical foundations
• Collaborating with related departments (hardware design, software, business units) for technical coordination

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Experience in performance evaluation and optimization using actual applications (control, automotive, embedded)
• Knowledge and evaluation experience regarding CPU IP (ARM, RISC-V)
• Understanding of design flows including logic synthesis, timing analysis, and power analysis
• Experience in creating technical documents and participating in technical discussions in English
• Experience in RTL design (VerilogHDL/VHDL design, verification, logic synthesis)
• Proficient in English (conversational level, approximately TOEIC 600)
• Proficient in Japanese (business conversation)

Nice-to-have qualifications include:

• Experience in CPU design
• Implementation experience (timing design, layout)
