Job Title
Automation Engineer (PPAB)
Role Summary
Join Arm's GPU team to design and deliver production-quality AI-based automation that improves engineering productivity for power, performance, area and bandwidth (PPAB) analysis. The role focuses on building reliable, repeatable systems that combine AI, engineering data, validation checks and human review to accelerate workflows across hardware, software, modelling and implementation teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not state a specific years-of-experience requirement.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities are to identify automation opportunities in engineering workflows and build robust tools and systems to realise them.
- Develop tools to automate or accelerate PPAB data analysis, result validation, report generation, debugging, and design-space exploration.
- Build closed-loop and semi-automated systems combining AI, scripts, tests, data sources, and validation checks to produce engineering-grade outputs.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, modelling and implementation teams to define requirements, prototype solutions, and mature them into maintainable tools.
Requirements
Must-have and desirable skills for the role.
-
Must-have: Practical experience applying modern AI tools to solve technical problems and building AI-driven engineering workflows.
- Ability to decompose engineering problems into workflow steps, define expected outputs, and design validation and improvement checks.
- Programming and scripting skills (example: Python) sufficient to develop, debug, and maintain automation and data-processing scripts.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience designing prompts, agents, or AI workflows that integrate assistants with scripts, tests, documentation or engineering data.
- Experience with data processing, dashboards, visualization, or automation of analysis tasks.
- Familiarity with hardware engineering or GPU development areas such as performance analysis, verification, modelling or implementation.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
