Automated Functional Validation Engineer (Temporary)
Role Summary
Work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and automate functional validation for SoC hardware. Build end-to-end validation infrastructure, automation scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and data tooling to improve test efficiency and product reliability. This is a temporary position expected to last about 1 year, potentially up to 2 years.
Experience Level
Mid-level β 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in validation automation, scripting, and hardware debugging.
Responsibilities
Typical duties include developing validation tools, automating test execution, and supporting debugging and data analysis.
- Develop, enable, and optimize functional validation testing tools and methodologies.
- Write automation scripts (primarily Python) to execute validation content and streamline testing processes.
- Collect, store, and visualize test data in centralized systems to support decision-making.
- Define and enhance automation tools to assess hardware health under various conditions.
- Participate in debugging to identify root causes across hardware, firmware, and silicon.
- Collaborate across validation teams to improve lifecycle efficiency.
- Develop and deploy CI/CD solutions for system testing with current software stacks.
- Deliver optimizations for high-value validation items via automation and tooling.
Requirements

- 3+ years hands-on experience in validation automation, scripting, and debugging processes.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and test framework development.
- Familiarity with system architecture and SoC microarchitecture.
- Strong root-cause analysis and hardware validation skills.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).
Nice to have:
- Experience deploying CI/CD solutions in testing environments.
- Expertise in post-silicon validation and advanced debugging techniques.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's or PhD in a related field (preferred for top candidates). No equivalent-experience language specified.
