Job Title

ATE Test Development Engineer (Staff)

Role Summary

Lead ATE test development for Data Center Graphics (DCG) New Product Introduction (NPI) within Product Engineering. Drive ATE test solutions to meet NPI milestones and KPIs (test time, yield, cost, quality) through cross-functional collaboration with design, product, quality, reliability, software and platform teams.

Responsible for test method development, silicon characterization and enabling production readiness for high-volume manufacturing.

Experience Level

Senior. Title indicates staff-level responsibility; no explicit years-of-experience specified.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include end-to-end ATE test development, characterization, and production enablement.

  • Develop and optimize test solutions, coverage, flows and test time to meet business milestones and quality targets.
  • Create, debug and validate test patterns, test flows and methods; lead post-silicon bring-up and characterization.
  • Engage pre-silicon with design for test solution scoping, planning and validation.
  • Analyze characterization data, debug new silicon and process technologies, and drive production issue closure.
  • Initiate and lead changes to processes and methods; influence technical decisions affecting final product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams; may mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Expectations for candidates; must-haves first, then preferred qualifications.

Must-have:

  • Proficient understanding of DFT (Design-For-Test) architecture for SoC products.
  • Strong test development experience and silicon characterization/debug on industry-standard ATE platforms.
  • Experience with test pattern and test flow development, debug, and validation.
  • Data analysis skills to interpret characterization and yield data.
  • Ability to lead technical decisions, collaborate across teams, and drive solutions to production.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hands-on ATE experience (Advantest V93K preferred; SMT8 a plus).
  • Power and performance characterization on ATE; HVM/high-volume manufacturing experience.
  • Software programming and scripting (C++, Java, Groovy, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Experience with Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and experience working with distributed teams.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
