ATE Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
As an ATE Test Development Engineer on Broadcom's Global Operations supporting the Core Switching Group, you will develop ATE test hardware and programs to bring high-speed networking switch ASICs from design to manufacturing. The role is based in Irvine, CA or San Jose, CA and works cross-functionally with product, design, and production teams.
Base salary range $108,000 - $192,000; position eligible for discretionary bonus and equity. Broadcom benefits apply.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing test programs and hardware, debugging, and supporting production release.
- Develop ATE test programs for high-power, high-speed SerDes (>100G) networking switch ASICs on Teradyne UltraFlex platforms.
- Design and drive test hardware for final test and probe; coordinate with PCB, probe, and socket vendors.
- Debug and bring up test hardware on ATE systems.
- Optimize test programs to reduce test time and improve yield without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with Product Engineers, Design Engineers, and production teams (including Asia-based production) for test program release.
- Analyze volume test data and correlate failures to system-level issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items noted.
- Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFlex tester platforms.
- Proven ability to independently develop complex test programs and test flows covering performance and power specifications.
- Strong debugging and failure-analysis skills working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and scripting/programming for test method development.
- Experience with test hardware development and understanding ATE contributions to chip behavior.
- Experience with extreme temperature testing of ASICs at ATE.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's degree in Engineering with 6+ years of related experience. Equivalent experience accepted as specified.
