Job Title

ATE Solution Test Engineer

Role Summary

The ATE Solution Test Engineer develops, validates, and maintains automated test equipment (ATE) solutions and production test programs for FPGA products. The role supports test development across the product lifecycle from NPI and silicon bring-up through production ramp and sustaining engineering.

This position works with cross-functional teams (Design, DFT, Validation, Reliability, Packaging, Manufacturing and OSAT partners) to optimize test coverage, yield, and test time for wafer sort and final test.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience in ATE test development and semiconductor production test.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and supporting ATE test solutions and ensuring their readiness for high-volume manufacturing:

  • Develop, validate, and maintain ATE test methods and production test programs for wafer sort and final test on Teradyne and/or Advantest platforms.
  • Own product test development through NPI, silicon bring-up, characterization, qualification, production ramp, and sustaining.
  • Analyze silicon performance across PVT corners to establish production limits and optimize guardbands.
  • Drive yield improvement, test-time reduction, and defect-escape prevention via data-driven analysis and test optimization.
  • Perform silicon, tester, hardware, and manufacturing debug to resolve complex product issues.
  • Collaborate with Design, DFT, Validation, Reliability, Package Engineering, Manufacturing, and OSAT partners.
  • Support production releases, manufacturing transfers, and continuous improvements in test quality and cost.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years developing ATE test programs on Teradyne and/or Advantest platforms.
  • 5+ years with semiconductor test methodologies, silicon characterization, and production test development for complex devices.
  • Experience developing and implementing ATE test methods from characterization through high-volume manufacturing.
  • 5+ years working with DFT architectures (Scan, MBIST, JTAG, Boundary Scan, ATPG).
  • Experience supporting wafer sort, final test, and semiconductor manufacturing test flows.
  • Experience with production test hardware (probe cards, load boards, sockets, ATE interface hardware).
  • Experience analyzing process variation, optimizing test guardbands, and developing production test limits.
  • 5+ years programming or scripting (Python, Perl, C++, or similar) for automation and data analysis.
  • 5+ years using JMP or equivalent statistical tools for characterization, yield analysis, and test optimization.
  • 3+ years working in Agile environments and using version control systems (e.g., Git).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (explicitly stated). No alternative "equivalent experience" language was provided.
