Role Summary

Join the Digital Subsystems team to define and implement cross-discipline modeling and virtual hardware frameworks for architecture exploration and virtual platform development. The role supports hardware and software architects by creating functional and performance models, enabling IP development and architectural validation for energy-efficient SoCs.

Responsibilities

Deliver modeling and virtual platform solutions that enable product architecture analysis, IP development, and software bring-up.

• Architect and implement hardware/software modeling solutions to meet product requirements.
• Develop functional models to support IP development and verification.
• Create performance models for architectural analysis and trade studies.
• Build virtual hardware platforms for simulation and software development.
• Propose and validate hardware architecture improvements.
• Write application-level and driver-level software to exercise models and platforms.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior modelers.
• Define and maintain the team's modeling framework and automation practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools for this role; nice-to-have items listed separately.

• Must-have: Proficiency in C or C++ and knowledge of object-oriented concepts.
• Experience with Embedded C or assembly programming.
• Experience in hardware architecture or modeling and developing virtual platforms.
• Experience working in Linux and writing automation scripts; ability to build executables and libraries from source.
• Experience with a modeling framework (examples: Renode, SystemC, modern C++ frameworks, or Python-based frameworks).

• Nice-to-have: Digital design and verification experience, familiarity with CMake, Visual Studio Code, RTL simulation tools, revision control, and continuous integration systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
