Associate Quality Engineer

Role Summary

Join a quality engineering team responsible for resolving customer returns, driving product-quality improvements, and leading engineering failure investigations. The role works hands-on with lab and test equipment and supports cross-functional stakeholders to reduce defect rates and improve customer satisfaction.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Associate. Guidance: 1–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The primary duties include testing, investigation, process ownership, and stakeholder communication.

  • Test and validate customer-returned material using lab equipment, automated test equipment, and application test platforms.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for customer and internal failures with minimal oversight.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with suppliers, vendors, and external test houses.
  • Maintain and improve internal quality processes, procedures, and databases.
  • Contribute to design and development of failure analysis platforms for new product introduction.
  • Drive product-quality investigations focused on defect-rate reduction and continual improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Engineering, Quality, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Mentor co-op students/interns on lab practices and investigation methodology as needed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes; nice-to-have items are noted.

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal generators, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data-analysis skills, including use of statistical tools.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact with all organizational levels.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers and external test houses.
  • Prior experience conducting root-cause or failure-analysis investigations is an asset.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience considered.
