Associate Product Engineer (Product Development)
Role Summary
Support the development, evaluation, qualification, and release of semiconductor products by working across design, test, manufacturing, quality, and applications teams. The role focuses on product characterization, reliability assessment, failure investigation, manufacturability improvements, and production release support.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or protected individuals may require export licensing approval to access certain technical data.
Experience Level
Entry-level — approximately 0–2 years of relevant experience (graduate/new-hire level).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical evaluation, data analysis, and cross-functional support throughout product development and production release.
- Support development, evaluation, and qualification of new semiconductor products and technologies.
- Analyze product, test, and manufacturing data to identify trends and resolve technical challenges.
- Perform product characterization, validation, reliability assessment, and production release activities.
- Assist in root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action development.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance product quality, yield, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), product transfers, and sustaining engineering activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, test reports, product specifications, and engineering records.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- Understanding of semiconductor devices, electronics, manufacturing processes, or product development fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing, experimentation, or engineering evaluation methods through coursework, projects, internships, or work experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field. Relevant coursework, internships, research, or up to 0–2 years of related experience in product development, reliability, manufacturing, quality, or semiconductor testing are also acceptable.
