Job Title

Associate Product Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role supporting customer integration of Analog Devices products through application tools, reference hardware, software, documentation, and lab validation. Work as part of a cross-functional team (engineering, marketing, sales) to accelerate product adoption and time-to-market.

May require export licensing review for applicants who are not U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Guidance: 0–2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support, develop demonstration assets, and validate product behavior to help customers integrate ADI products.

  • Develop and maintain application tools, software examples, and reference boards.
  • Support customers during design cycles with technical guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Gain system-level understanding to recommend component interactions and architectures.
  • Participate in product validation and road testing to verify specifications and boundary conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales to support product introductions and collateral.
  • Perform competitive analysis and evaluate evaluation kits.
  • Create clear technical documentation for internal teams and customers.
  • Support qualification testing and related lab activities.
  • Travel to customers or labs as needed (approximately 10% travel).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for this role. Preferred items are noted separately.

  • Foundational system-level design skills and understanding of component interactions.
  • Basic application development experience: building tools, demos, firmware, or reference hardware.
  • Hands-on laboratory and measurement skills with common test equipment.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and methodical troubleshooting approach.
  • Clear technical communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to different team priorities.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and responsiveness to technical questions.
  • Nice-to-have: internship or project experience in applications engineering or related practical experience.

Education Requirements

Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Applicants with 0–2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience will be considered. Internship or project experience in applications engineering is a plus.
