Associate Engineer, Test Engineering - Product Development

Role Summary

Entry-level test engineering role within the Product Development team. Responsible for designing and implementing cost-effective test methods, test programs, and test fixtures across product development and manufacturing.

Collaborate with experienced engineers to plan testing resources, execute diagnostic activities, and help ensure products meet quality and qualification requirements.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Preferred experience: 0–2 years in test engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include test method development, test program support, and hands-on test setup work throughout product development.

  • Design and implement cost-effective testing methodologies for validating systems and equipment.
  • Assist in development of test and diagnostic programs to evaluate product functionality and performance.
  • Support design and build of test fixtures, evaluation boards, and test equipment.
  • Define test setups to apply required stresses for standards and qualification testing.
  • Help plan labor, schedule, and equipment allocation for testing activities.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause activities during development phases.
  • Ensure testing processes comply with established quality standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to PCB design for test setups and evaluation boards.
  • Travel as required: approximately 10%.

Requirements

  • Ability to create structured test cases that validate product functionality against specifications.
  • Basic understanding of diagnostic testing methodologies and qualification testing concepts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of designing simple test fixtures and test fixtures support.
  • Ability to document clear testing procedures and follow quality processes.
  • Basic resource planning skills for estimating test labor, schedule, and equipment needs.
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Fundamental PCB design knowledge for test applications.
  • Nice-to-have: prior exposure to test automation, bench instrumentation, or scripting for test flow (not required).

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred experience: 0–2 years in test engineering or a related field. (This posting is a graduate/entry-level role.)
