Job Title

Validation/Characterization Engineer, BMS BGP

Role Summary

Perform post-silicon validation and characterization of battery management system (BMS) analog/mixed-signal devices. Work in a lab environment to design test hardware, develop automation software, and implement measurement methods to verify device performance versus datasheet and validation plans.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify failure modes, improve test coverage, reduce data-collection time, and support high-quality product release.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Guidance: 6+ years of related experience in validation or test.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing validation activities and building the tools and procedures needed to collect reliable data.

  • Design and build PCB test fixtures and measurement setups for post-silicon validation.
  • Develop and maintain automation software and test frameworks to increase coverage and reduce test time.
  • Define and implement measurement methods to quantify device performance and compliance with the VVCM/data-sheet limits.
  • Troubleshoot devices, test equipment, and lab systems; isolate root causes of failures.
  • Analyze validation data, document results, and communicate findings to engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate datasheet and design specifications into test cases.
  • Drive improvements in validation infrastructure to meet schedule and quality targets.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • 6+ years of related experience in validation or test engineering.
  • Experience with PCB/test-fixture design and hands-on lab validation in a post-silicon environment.
  • Proficiency with test automation and scripting (Python preferred) to build reliable, repeatable test flows.
  • Ability to develop measurement methods and perform detailed troubleshooting of devices and test equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • ECL/GTC compliance required.

Nice-to-have:

  • ADC validation experience.
