Associate Engineer, Test Engineering - Product Development

Role Summary

As an Associate Test Engineer on the Product Development team, you will design, develop, and implement cost‑effective test methods, fixtures, and diagnostic programs across product development and manufacturing phases. You will work with experienced engineers to validate device performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure products meet quality standards.

Travel requirement: up to 10%.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 0–2 years of relevant experience; suitable for recent graduates or early-career engineers.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing tests, supporting hardware setups, and documenting procedures.

  • Design and implement testing methodologies and cost‑effective test strategies.
  • Develop and assist in test and diagnostic programs to verify functionality and performance.
  • Support design of test fixtures, evaluation boards, and PCB layouts for test setups.
  • Define test setups and stress conditions for standards and qualification testing.
  • Assist planning of labor, schedules, and equipment allocation for test activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues across development phases and support root‑cause analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain clear test procedures, specifications, and documentation.
  • Ensure testing adheres to quality standards and qualification requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies.

  • Ability to develop structured test cases and diagnostic procedures.
  • Basic understanding of diagnostic testing methodologies and qualification testing concepts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of test fixture design and PCB design for test applications.
  • Ability to document repeatable test procedures and maintain test documentation.
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Basic resource planning skills for estimating labor and equipment needs.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance principles as applied to test processes.

Nice-to-have: prior internship or hands-on experience in test engineering or related roles.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. This role typically expects recent graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of experience in test engineering or a related field.
