Associate Engineer, Process Sustaining Engineering

Role Summary

The Associate Engineer will support Wafer Acceptance Testing (WAT) and act as a device/process owner for a key fabrication process at the Limerick facility. The role combines hands-on test development, yield debug, process control and continuous improvement to sustain volume manufacture.

The position sits in the Integration group and works with cross-disciplinary teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and develop new test methodologies to support the technology roadmap.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” Graduate / early career (suitable for recent graduates). Typical experience: 0–2 years.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on WAT capability, yield improvement, and ownership of a fab process.

  • Develop and maintain WAT capability for new and existing fab processes.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve non-genuine yield losses at WAT.
  • Drive continuous improvement: reduce test time, improve cycle time, and implement software enhancements.
  • Manage WAT capacity and capability to meet fabrication output targets.
  • Manage and design test-structure libraries and layout new test structures for new technologies.
  • Act as unit/device/process expert with ownership for performance metrics of an assigned fab process.
  • Map and monitor critical nodes across the manufacturing flow and ensure appropriate process controls.
  • Liaise with fabrication, device engineering, and test teams to implement corrective actions and robust solutions.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing or fabrication.
  • Basic programming experience in C or Java.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline (Bachelor's-level or equivalent). Role is advertised as a graduate entry position.
