Job Title

Associate Engineer, Integration & Yield

Role Summary

Support process integration and yield-improvement activities for semiconductor wafer fabrication. Work with process, equipment, manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams to analyze manufacturing data, identify yield-impacting issues, and implement corrective actions.

This role contributes to process qualifications, manufacturing ramps, and continuous improvement to sustain product quality, reliability, and production efficiency.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Guidance: 0–3 years of relevant semiconductor manufacturing or process/yield engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include monitoring yield, analyzing data, driving corrective actions, and supporting process introductions and ramp activities.

  • Monitor product yield trends and analyze manufacturing datasets to identify root causes of yield excursions.
  • Investigate inline, electrical, and reliability data to find opportunities for process optimization.
  • Collaborate with process, equipment, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve yield-limiting issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform statistical analysis and use engineering tools to track process performance, SPC, and defect trends.
  • Support new technology introductions, process qualifications, and manufacturing ramp activities.
  • Participate in structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and root-cause analysis.
  • Develop technical reports and present findings, recommendations, and improvement plans to engineering and management.
  • Assist in developing process control strategies and monitoring systems to sustain manufacturing performance.
  • Adhere to EHS, cleanroom protocols, and corporate quality/compliance requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role, followed by preferred skills.

  • Must-have: 0–3 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, process integration, yield engineering, or process engineering.
  • Must-have: Understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes (lithography, etch, deposition, CMP, diffusion, metrology).
  • Must-have: Experience analyzing large datasets and applying statistical methods; familiarity with SPC and yield analysis.
  • Must-have: Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization/analysis tools.
  • Must-have: Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience or familiarity with JMP, Minitab, Tableau, Spotfire, Python, SQL, MES, and yield management systems.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to DOE, failure analysis, reliability testing, cleanroom manufacturing, project management, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related technical discipline was requested.
