Associate EDA Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level engineering role on the EDA Technology team supporting semiconductor design flows, tool validation, automation, and internal engineering users. Work focuses on testing and maintaining EDA tools, developing simple automation scripts, and contributing to platform and methodology evaluations.

Collaborate with EDA engineers in Ho Chi Minh City and global teams (including Japan) to support ASIC/SoC digital design activities and continuous improvement of design environments.

Experience Level

Entry-level - final-year undergraduate or recent graduate; suitable for 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include supporting EDA flows, validating tools, and helping internal users; tasks are performed under guidance from experienced engineers.

• Learn and support semiconductor EDA flows and toolchains under supervision.
• Test, validate, and maintain EDA tools, scripts, and design environments.
• Support internal engineering users by reproducing issues, collecting data, and assisting investigations.
• Execute test cases and regression tests for EDA tools and flow updates; analyze results and prepare technical reports.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Tcl, Python, Perl, Shell, or similar languages.
• Support digital design tasks such as synthesis, static timing analysis, design constraints, implementation, DFT, or static verification as assigned.
• Contribute to EDA platform and methodology evaluation and improvement activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, operating instructions, test specifications, and evaluation reports.
• Follow software-engineering practices: version control, code review, modular scripting, and issue tracking.

• Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork; willingness to learn and develop in the semiconductor industry.
• Must-have: Basic programming/scripting ability (Tcl, Python, Perl, Shell or similar).
• Must-have: Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA tools, Verilog/SystemVerilog, and digital design concepts.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to synthesis, static timing analysis, implementation flows, DFT, or static verification.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience developing simple automation for engineering workflows.
• Good English communication skills.

Education Requirements

Final-year undergraduate or fresh graduate in Electronics, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics.
