Associate Applications Engineer – Hardware Assisted Verification

Role Summary

Participate in a structured 12-month Associate Applications Engineer training program focused on hardware-assisted verification for ASIC and FPGA flows. The role provides on-the-job training to develop technical skills in verification, emulation/prototyping, and customer support, preparing candidates for positions in field applications, product engineering, or technical marketing.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Targeted at recent graduates (typical new-college-graduate timeframe noted by the employer).

Responsibilities

Primary duties during the training program and subsequent placement.

  • Complete a fast-track, structured 12-month training program in hardware-assisted verification.
  • Support customer projects involving ASIC/FPGA verification, emulation, and prototyping workflows.
  • Develop and run verification testbenches and simulations using SystemVerilog/Verilog and work with RTL/HDL code.
  • Use software skills (C/C++, Python) to automate tasks, analyze results, and integrate tools.
  • Collaborate with product support, sales, and technical marketing teams to diagnose and resolve customer issues.
  • Document technical findings, present results, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Travel to customer sites on occasion as required.

Requirements

Must-have skills, technical experience, and attributes for this role.

  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python and an understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Coursework or practical experience with HDL/RTL digital design and functional verification methodology for ASICs and/or FPGAs.
  • Experience with FPGA usage, testbench architecture, verification methodology, and simulation in SystemVerilog/Verilog.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; self-motivated with solid problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and to relocate anywhere within the United States upon completion of the training program.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required. The position targets newer college graduates (employer indicated graduates from June 2025 – June 2026).
