Associate Applications Engineer, CMSD (New Graduate) — Configurable Mixed-Signal Products
Role Summary
Provide technical applications support for Renesas CMSD configurable mixed-signal products to customers, internal engineering teams, sales, and distributors. The role is placed in the CMSD applications team and focuses on product support, validation, and training during development and post-release phases.
This is an entry-level position intended for recent graduates with both hardware and software skills who will work closely with senior engineers to build domain knowledge across CMSD product lines.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day responsibilities include technical support, verification, and customer-facing assistance for CMSD products.
- Deliver design support and technical verification for CMSD-related cases on schedule and with high quality.
- Provide ongoing technical support to existing and new customers via online channels and via field application engineers (FAEs).
- Collaborate with marketing, FAEs, and sales during new product design-in and launch phases to supply technical details and support.
- Develop and deliver technical training and solution materials for customers, sales, and distributors.
- Assist senior engineers or the team with design, testing, and validation tasks.
- Prepare technical documentation such as application notes, training materials, analyses, and summary reports.
Requirements
Must-have technical and professional skills for effective performance in the role.
- Fundamental knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics concepts.
- Familiarity with common lab instruments: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, adjustable power supply, signal generator; plus soldering iron and hot air station.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with customers, internal teams, partners, and global colleagues.
- Team-oriented, able to accept guidance, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.
- Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- English reading comprehension of technical documentation and basic spoken technical communication (CET-4 level required; CET-6 preferred).
- Nice-to-have: experience with PCB design tools, FPGA development, and Verilog.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering (and automation), or a related technical discipline. English proficiency demonstrated by CET-4 (required) or CET-6 (preferred). No explicit equivalent-experience language stated.
