Assembly and Test NPI Technical Program Manager
Role Summary
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology transfer activities for the Kulim Assembly and Test manufacturing site as the single program owner. Plan, execute, and deliver cross-functional NPI programs from early engineering builds through high volume manufacturing, balancing schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management, NPI, or complex technology transfer within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
The role owns end-to-end NPI delivery and coordinates cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturing readiness and transfer certification.
- Own integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, resources, and costs for NPI and technology transfer.
- Drive program governance: milestone reviews, risk assessments, issue escalation, and leadership communications.
- Lead cross-functional startup teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, tooling, and external partners.
- Manage schedule, technical, cost, and capacity risks; support data-driven trade-off decisions and recovery plans.
- Plan and execute NPI builds and major milestones (Recipe Check Out, Power On, Engineering/Quality Sample, Factory Certification, Manufacturing Validation).
- Ensure readiness of systems, materials, tooling, process flow, and capacity to support NPI builds and data collection.
- Drive ramp activities to achieve quality, yield, and throughput targets and monitor Critical Success Indicators through Transfer Certification.
- Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation to technical teams and senior leadership with transparency and urgency.

- Minimum 8 years' experience in technical program management, NPI, or complex technology transfer in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-organizational programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and familiarity with development, transfer, and manufacturing readiness methodologies.
- Knowledge of assembly and/or test processes and experience using statistical data analysis for decision making.
- Program management, stakeholder management, issue resolution, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to operate under ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and influence without formal authority.
- Experience driving Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities and working with cross-functional technical experts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
