ASIC Verification, Principal Engineer

Role Summary

Senior ASIC digital verification engineer responsible for designing and maintaining verification environments for Interface IP protocols. You'll develop SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, perform coverage-driven verification, debug issues with design teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior (Principal level). This role expects extensive verification experience; typically 7+ years in ASIC/IP verification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Accountable for ensuring functional correctness and coverage closure for Interface IP designs.

• Design, implement and optimize verification environments for Interface IP protocols (PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet, AMBA).
• Create, execute and track detailed test plans and regression suites.
• Develop and maintain verification IP and testbenches using SystemVerilog, SVA and UVM.
• Collaborate with design and architecture teams to identify and debug issues.
• Perform functional coverage analysis and drive coverage closure.
• Mentor and guide junior verification engineers on best practices and methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Extensive ASIC digital verification experience, with focus on Interface IP protocols such as PCIe, CXL, DDR, Ethernet, AMBA (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB).
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog, SVA and UVM verification methodology.
• Strong understanding of digital design and verification concepts; familiarity with RTL through synthesis flow.
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g. VCS, ModelSim) or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to handle complex verification challenges.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience mentoring junior engineers.
