Job Title
ASIC Verification Engineer (Python/Cocotb)
Role Summary
Lead verification for complex SoC subsystems using Python-based verification frameworks (Cocotb preferred). The role focuses on DSP and/or CPU subsystem validation, building scalable test environments, and driving verification to closure through tapeout.
Hybrid contract position (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). Typical assignment length: 6β9 months, with potential for temp-to-perm conversion.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8+ years of ASIC/SoC digital verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead verification strategy and execution for large IP and SoC subsystems.
- Design and implement Python-based test frameworks and self-checking Cocotb testbenches.
- Develop scoreboards, functional coverage models, and directed/stress tests to ensure verification completeness.
- Validate DSP and/or CPU subsystems, including algorithm-level Python models where applicable.
- Integrate and maintain regression and CI automation (e.g., GitHub actions or similar).
- Debug RTL, testbench, and interoperability issues; drive fixes through closure to tapeout.
- Collaborate with design, firmware, and system teams to define verification scope and requirements.
Requirements
Key qualifications and desired skills.
-
Must-have: 8+ years in ASIC/SoC digital verification; strong Python-based verification experience (Cocotb strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog/UVM and solid RTL design understanding.
- Experience building self-checking testbenches, scoreboards, and coverage-driven verification environments.
- Proven track record of achieving verification closure on large IP/SoC subsystems.
- Strong debugging skills and experience with regression/CI automation (GitHub or equivalent).
-
Nice-to-have: DSP or fixed-point algorithm validation experience with Python models; experience with high-speed interfaces (SerDes, PCIe, USB, Ethernet); background in high-bandwidth/streaming architectures; experience with advanced-node SoCs (β€28nm); exposure to embedded processors or accelerator subsystems.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
