Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Recogni's ASIC team to validate a high-performance, low-power convolutional neural network accelerator used in perception modules for autonomous driving. The role focuses on pre-silicon correctness and quality across block, subsystem and full-chip levels.

The engineer will work closely with design and architecture teams to create verification environments and tests, drive coverage convergence, triage issues, and support diagnostic and post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career. The posting requests a minimum of 2+ years of ASIC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary verification and validation responsibilities for pre-silicon and post-silicon activities:

  • Develop block-level, subsystem and full-chip verification environments and tests to implement verification plans.
  • Verify SoC/subsystem elements including embedded CPUs (ARM/RISC-V) and interconnect subsystems; perform C and assembly diagnostics where required.
  • Create constrained-random stimulus and coverage-driven test strategies; drive coverage closure.
  • Triage and debug functional and performance issues; manage bug tracking and regression testing.
  • Integrate accelerator units with 3rd-party SoC IP and validate system-level interactions.
  • Develop scripts and methodologies for front-end ASIC flows; support diagnostic and post-silicon lab validation.

Requirements

Key technical skills and attributes. Items labeled "Nice-to-have" are preferred but not mandatory.

  • 2+ years of ASIC verification experience.
  • Knowledge of ARM, MIPS or RISC-V architectures.
  • Familiarity with AMBA/APB/AXI protocols and common processor peripheral interfaces (SPI, eMMC, MII, GPIO, I2C).
  • Strong Verilog/SystemVerilog design and verification coding skills.
  • Experience with UVM or similar verification methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented verification, constrained-random stimulus, and coverage-driven verification.
  • Ability to debug complex RTL interactions and drive issues to resolution.
  • Nice-to-have: scripting skills (Python, Perl, TCL, shell) and interest in AI accelerator architectures (convolution, transformer workloads).
  • Self-starter, motivated to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Education Requirements

B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or similar field) required; M.S. preferred.
