Role Summary

Senior technical lead responsible for verification of next-generation 100G–1.6T coherent optical communications ASICs within Cisco's Acacia organization. The role focuses on developing and leading verification strategies, testbenches, and coverage to ensure silicon quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification leadership across complex ASIC projects and establish high-quality verification practices.

  • Lead and develop detailed, comprehensive test plans.
  • Design and implement verification testbenches and environments.
  • Apply advanced verification techniques and object-oriented verification methodologies to complex designs.
  • Supervise and coordinate execution of test plans across the team.
  • Review verification code and coverage metrics; drive improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor teammates on methods and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate new test technologies and processes.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required for this role.

  • Proven experience with modern ASIC verification methodologies, tools, and scripting/programming languages.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM and SystemC.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented verification methodologies and testbench architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineers.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Nice-to-have:

  • Track record of innovation that produced measurable improvements.
  • Experience with in-house IP development and leading ASIC technical teams.
  • Familiarity with DSP algorithms and modulation techniques (e.g., QAM).
  • Experience with C++ templates.
  • Lab silicon validation experience.
  • Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Jasper, VCFormal).

Education Requirements
