Job Title

ASIC Verification Engineer - Acacia

Role Summary

Work on verification of next-generation 100G–1.6T coherent optical communication ASICs within Cisco's Acacia group. This senior technical role focuses on designing and executing verification strategies, leading verification projects, and mentoring engineers to ensure silicon quality for high-speed optical products.

Hybrid role with three days per week in Cisco’s Maynard, MA office.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience expectation: ~8+ years of relevant ASIC verification experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience equivalencies).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead development of detailed verification test plans.
  • Design and implement verification testbenches and infrastructure.
  • Apply advanced verification techniques to complex ASIC designs.
  • Supervise execution of test plans and track coverage metrics.
  • Review verification code and coverage, and drive quality improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt new verification technologies and processes.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills:

  • Must-have: Proven ASIC verification experience with object-oriented verification methodologies, SystemVerilog/UVM, SystemC, and scripting/programming skills including C++.
  • Experience with verification tools and coverage-driven verification flows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: DSP algorithm and modulation technique experience (e.g. QAM); C++ templates; lab silicon bring-up/validation; formal verification tools (Jasper, VCFormal); experience leading ASIC technical teams and in-house IP development.

Education Requirements
