Job Title
ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Plan and implement IP/Cluster/SoC functional verification for NVIDIA Graphics Processors and Tegra SoCs. Create regression plans, drive functional and code coverage closure, perform pre-silicon validation (e.g., XPROP simulations, GLS), support post-silicon verification and debug, and collaborate with hardware architects, designers, FPGA and software teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 2+ years of design or verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Plan and own ASIC verification of IP/cluster RTL for complex designs.
- Develop regression plans and drive functional and code coverage closure.
- Perform pre-silicon validation (XPROP simulations, GLS) and support post-silicon verification and debug.
- Collaborate with hardware architects and designers to influence implementation choices.
- Work with performance verification teams and apply dynamic simulation and/or formal verification techniques where applicable.
- Partner with FPGA and software teams to ensure software is tested on the hardware.
Requirements
Required and preferred qualifications:
-
Must-have: Minimum 2+ years of design or ASIC verification experience; demonstrated experience verifying complex design units across one or more projects.
-
Must-have: Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulation tools; debug tools such as Debussy, GDB).
-
Nice-to-have: Exposure to SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodology.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of memory controllers or prior experience verifying IP/clusters involving memory access.
-
Nice-to-have: Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell); strong debugging, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting lists "BS / MS or equivalent experience" with no specific fields of study or certifications specified.)
