ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on the High Speed Interconnect Product (HSIP) team to verify PHY and interconnect ASICs used in data center and AI systems. The role focuses on developing verification environments and executing block- and chip-level verification to deliver production-ready silicon.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The team hires a range from new graduates (entry) up to engineers with 3+ years of ASIC design/verification experience; candidates should be prepared to work across the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Participate across the verification lifecycle and deliver infrastructure and tests that ensure first-pass silicon success.
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments and testbench components.
- Define, plan, and execute block- and chip-level verification strategies and test plans.
- Validate compliance with IEEE Ethernet and related protocols.
- Create scripts and automation to accelerate verification and regression flows.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL design, firmware, and validation teams to debug and close issues.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical verification experience required; degrees are listed separately in Education Requirements.
- Must-have: Proficiency in HDL (SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL) and experience with UVM-based verification.
- Strong fundamentals in logic design, computer architecture, and networking protocols.
- Experience developing verification infrastructure and test automation.
- Must be able to communicate technical issues clearly and work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Nice-to-have: C/C++ programming skills and solid OOP understanding.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, Perl, or TCL) for automation.
Education Requirements
Posting specifies one of the following: M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (acceptable for new graduates), or B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years of direct ASIC design/verification experience.
