ASIC Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
Engineer responsible for ATE test bring-up, production test enablement, and test-program release for ASICs. Works with ASIC design, test engineering, and manufacturing partners to characterize units, debug patterns, and ensure high-volume production quality.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role expects at least 4+ years of relevant experience in SOC/VLSI bring-up, production, characterization, or test engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on test development, debugging, and production support for ASIC units.
- Support ATE test bring-up and collaborate with ASIC design and test teams.
- Characterize units and prepare/release test programs to production.
- Generate and debug test patterns; identify coverage gaps.
- Design and implement new tests to improve coverage.
- Manage high-volume manufacturing tests and resolve quality issues with Tier-1 OSATs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience.
- 4+ years experience in SOC/VLSI bring-up, production, characterization, or test engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest 93000 or similar ATE systems.
- Proficient in programming: C, C++, Java, Perl, and Python.
- Strong knowledge of DFT techniques: Scan, ATPG, JTAG, MBIST, PVT, and SerDes.
- Experience with pattern generation, debugging, and identifying test coverage gaps.
- Ability to manage manufacturing test flows and coordinate with OSATs to resolve issues.
- Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (the posting permits equivalent experience instead of a degree).
