ASIC/RTL Design Engineer II
Role Summary
Design and implement RTL for SoC components (ARM cores, Ethernet, DDR, DMA, PCIe, SATA and internal IP). Contribute across chip definition, micro-architecture, implementation, verification, synthesis, timing closure, and silicon bring-up while collaborating with physical execution and software teams.
Onsite in San Jose, CA. 12-month duration. Pay rate: $60.00β$62.00 per hour.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Engineer II). Typical experience range: approximately 3β7 years in industry ASIC/SoC design; exact years not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead and participate in RTL design for SoC modules, from micro-architecture to RTL implementation.
- Create and translate micro-architectural specifications into synthesizable RTL.
- Debug and verify RTL; support emulation and silicon bring-up.
- Perform synthesis support and timing-closure activities and collaborate with physical design teams.
- Integrate and work with IP such as ARM cores, Ethernet, DDR, DMA, PCIe, SATA, and client-specific IP.
- Document designs and communicate with cross-functional teams (software, verification, physical).
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
Must-have:
- Hands-on experience in industry ASIC design flow: RTL coding, RTL debugging and verification, synthesis support, and timing closure.
- Working knowledge of ARM cores and common I/O interfaces.
- SoC architecture experience and exposure to multiple IP blocks.
- Ability to collaborate with physical design, software, and silicon bring-up teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Technical leadership or prior lead role on SoC/IP projects.
- Strong documentation, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
