Job Title

ASIC/RTL Design Engineer II

Role Summary

Work as an RTL/ASIC designer on advanced SoC projects, contributing across chip definition, micro‑architecture, RTL implementation, verification, synthesis, timing closure and silicon bring‑up. The role is team‑facing and requires coordination with physical implementation, software and validation teams.

Onsite role in San Jose, CA. Position duration: 12 months (contracted engagement).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to SoC architecture and chip definition; translate micro‑architectural specs into RTL implementation.
  • Write, debug and maintain RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) for complex IP blocks and subsystems.
  • Develop and run verification, emulation and debug activities to ensure functional correctness.
  • Support synthesis, timing analysis and timing closure activities.
  • Integrate and verify standard and proprietary interfaces (ARM cores, Ethernet, DDR, DMA, PCIe, SATA, etc.).
  • Collaborate with physical design, software and silicon bring‑up teams during integration and tape‑out phases.
  • Document designs and provide technical leadership within the design team.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Hands-on ASIC design experience across the ASIC flow, including RTL coding, debugging and verification.
  • Experience supporting synthesis and timing closure.
  • Working knowledge of ARM cores and common I/O standards (Ethernet, DDR, DMA, PCIe, SATA).
  • Experience with micro‑architectural specification and converting specs into logic implementation.
  • Strong communication, documentation and organization skills; ability to coordinate across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with emulation, silicon bring‑up and cross‑discipline integration.
  • Technical leadership or mentorship experience.
