ASIC Physical Design Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Onsite staff engineer in the ASIC Physical Design team based in Bengaluru. Responsible for leading physical implementation activities for complex ASIC projects and coordinating with RTL, verification, and signoff teams to meet area, performance, and power targets.
Work focuses on floorplanning, placement and routing, timing closure, signoff readiness, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead physical design tasks including floorplanning, placement, routing and timing closure for ASIC projects.
- Coordinate with RTL, verification, physical verification and signoff teams to ensure design readiness.
- Develop and maintain physical design flows, scripts and automation to improve productivity and quality.
- Drive optimizations for area, performance and power; support tapeout and signoff activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical reviews and guidance.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven experience in ASIC physical implementation and signoff flows.
- Experience with industry EDA tools and scripting for design automation.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Bengaluru and collaborate with distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading complex SoC or multi-block tapeouts.
