ASIC Implementation Engineer, Static Verification
Role Summary
Join Meta's Infrastructure organization as a front-end ASIC implementation engineer focused on static verification for data-center SoCs. The role owns RTL-to-netlist static checks (CDC, reset, lint, DFT) and works with design, verification, emulation, and physical-design teams to ensure clean handoff and sign-off.
Experience Level
Mid-level - requires approximately 6 years of relevant experience with static verification tools and front-end ASIC flows.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include performing static analyses, generating sign-off-quality results, and developing automation to scale front-end verification.
- Perform flat and hierarchical Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis and support designer sign-off.
- Conduct flat and hierarchical Reset Domain Crossing checks; define reset groups and sequences with Design and Firmware teams.
- Execute RTL lint checks and coordinate waiver development with designers.
- Analyze RTL for Design-for-Test (DFT) to improve stuck-at fault coverage.
- Run logic/physical synthesis and produce optimized gate-level netlists for timing, area, and power targets.
- Develop automation scripts and methodologies for front-end tools (lint, CDC, reset CDC workflows).
- Collaborate with Design, DV, and Emulation teams to support handoff and provide timing/congestion feedback to Physical Design.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tooling experience, and communication ability.
- 6+ years using static verification tools (lint, CDC, reset analysis).
- Experience with SoC CDC signoff processes and SoC integration (clocking, reset, PLL).
- Familiarity with front-end ASIC flows and RTL coding in SystemVerilog or other HDLs.
- Scripting/programming proficiency in Perl, Python, Tcl, and Make for automation.
- Ability to develop structural rule-based checks for RTL and netlist.
- Effective cross-functional communication with internal teams and external vendors.
- Nice-to-have: netlist-CDC analysis experience, knowledge of timing/physical libraries and SRAM, and experience improving MTBF.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
