Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career; suitable for recent graduates or engineers with limited industry experience (approximately 0–3 years).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and design ASIC and FPGA systems, including architecture and logic design.
  • Perform system simulations and analyze high-level designs.
  • Execute synthesis, place-and-route flows and perform timing and power utilization assessments.
  • Develop and verify FPGA firmware and support HDL-based verification flows.
  • Use lab and test equipment to establish operational data, run experiments, and evaluate results.

Requirements

Core technical and clearance-related requirements. Degree information is listed separately under Education Requirements.

  • US Citizenship required and ability to obtain government security clearance.
  • Experience with FPGA architecture and design on Xilinx/AMD, Intel, or Microsemi devices.
  • Proficiency in VHDL firmware programming for FPGA devices.
  • Experience with FPGA development toolchains (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Microsemi Libero).
  • Familiarity with HDL simulation and verification tools and methodologies (Mentor Questa, UVM).
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing functions relevant to radar and electronic warfare.
  • Experience with MATLAB and higher-level code development (e.g., CUDA, OpenCL, Simulink HDL Coder, Xilinx System Generator).
