Role Summary

Early-career hardware engineer responsible for architecture, logic design, verification, synthesis, place-and-route, timing/power analysis, test, and documentation for ASIC and FPGA developments. Work includes using FPGAs, microprocessors, DSPs, and interface controllers in systems engineering contexts.

Full-time role. Reported salary range: $67,000 to $124,400. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, parental leave, and education assistance.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include system and device-level design, verification, and testing for ASIC and FPGA projects.

• Develop, design, verify, and document ASIC and FPGA implementations.
• Define architecture and logic design; perform system simulation.
• Perform synthesis, place-and-route review, timing closure, and power utilization analysis.
• Use lab and test equipment to gather operational data, run experiments, and evaluate results.
• Collaborate with board design and system engineers to integrate FPGA/ASIC solutions.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and preferred skills.

• Must-have: FPGA architecture and hands-on design experience with Xilinx/AMD, Intel, or Microsemi devices and development environments.
• Must-have: VHDL firmware development on FPGAs; experience with Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Microsemi Libero.
• Must-have: Experience with Mentor Questa HDL simulator and UVM verification techniques.
• Must-have: Technical familiarity with FPGAs, microprocessors, DSPs, and interface controllers; ability to complete assignments of moderate scope using current technologies.
• Must-have: US citizenship and eligibility for government security clearance; ability to work at facilities requiring special access.
• Must-have: Working knowledge of digital signal processing functions relevant to radar and electronic warfare (digital receivers and exciters).
• Desirable: Digital board design experience for mixed-signal boards that support FPGAs.
• Nice-to-have: MATLAB modeling experience.
• Nice-to-have: Higher-level code development such as NVIDIA CUDA, OpenCL, Simulink HDL Coder, or Xilinx System Generator.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
