ASIC Engineer Intern, Architecture
Role Summary
Join the Infrastructure ASIC team to help design and model accelerators for GenAI and deep learning workloads that enable efficient scaling of Meta's data centers. You will work with ASIC and AI/ML experts to architect, model, and validate accelerator performance and functionality.

Responsibilities
Work on architecture and modeling tasks to validate and improve data-center accelerators.
- Develop architecture projections, kernels, and performance/functional models for ML accelerators.
- Analyze and map data-center workloads to ASIC architectures.
- Implement and evaluate numerical algorithms and enhanced architecture features.
- Create models required for accelerator validation and performance analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and eligibility criteria; preferred skills listed separately.
- Must-have: Programming skills in C or C++ (object-oriented programming).
- Must-have: Knowledge of computer architecture concepts such as processor architecture, memory systems, and on-chip interconnection networks.
- Must-have: Ability to implement and analyze numerical algorithms for performance evaluation.
- Must-have: Must obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment at time of hire.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with GenAI or machine learning architectures.
- Nice-to-have: Experience developing AI kernels, CUDA or parallel programming, C++ for hardware simulators, and performance/numerical analysis of ASIC designs.
- Nice-to-have: Creativity and problem-solving demonstrated on technical projects.
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in or in the process of obtaining a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required; candidates must intend to return to their degree program after the internship/co-op. A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related areas is listed as preferred.
