ASIC Engineer, Design
Role Summary
Join the Infra Silicon team to design and integrate Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) and domain-specific SoCs that improve data-center efficiency and performance for workloads such as video transcoding and AI/ML. The role spans micro-architecture, RTL design, IP integration, and close collaboration with verification, emulation, and implementation teams.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8+ years of silicon development experience with demonstrated first-pass success in ASIC development.
Responsibilities
The engineer will contribute to SoC and IP design from architecture through implementation and collaborate across teams to deliver production-quality silicon.
- Conduct architecture exploration and micro-architecture development.
- Develop RTL for complex control and datapath blocks.
- Identify, select, and integrate soft and hard IP.
- Work with verification and emulation teams to develop test plans and debug issues.
- Collaborate with implementation teams to achieve timing closure and meet power targets.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of silicon development experience with first-pass ASIC success.
- Experience in one of: micro-architecture and RTL development for complex control/datapath IPs; SoC micro-architecture, design and integration; or implementation and power methodology development.
- Proficiency with Verilog or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with linting, CDC analysis, synthesis, and power optimization.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience across multiple projects and with scripting languages (TCL, Python, Perl, Shell).
- Experience with CPU, NoC, memory, and peripheral subsystems.
- Power analysis and optimization, datapath development, HLS experience.
- Familiarity with synthesis, timing closure, and formal verification methodologies.
- Extensive senior experience (e.g., 15+ years) is listed as preferred for some roles.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
