ASIC Digital Verification Engineer, Staff

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for planning and executing digital ASIC verification for SoC/ASIC blocks. Works within the ASIC Digital Design/Verification team in Moreira (Porto) to deliver validated RTL and to support pre-silicon and silicon bring-up.

Primary mission: develop verification environments, create and run tests, find and track functional issues, and collaborate with RTL designers and validation teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement verification environments and testbenches (SystemVerilog/UVM).
• Develop directed and constrained-random tests, scoreboards, and functional coverage plans.
• Run simulations, analyse results, debug functional failures, and file/troubleshoot verification failures with RTL owners.
• Create and maintain verification documentation, test plans, and regressions.
• Work with emulation, FPGA bring-up, and silicon validation teams as required.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team process improvements.

Requirements

Must-have and desirable skills:

• Must-have: Experience in digital ASIC verification using SystemVerilog and UVM; strong RTL debugging skills.
• Must-have: Experience with simulation and verification tools and flows (e.g., VCS/Incisive or equivalent) and scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl) for automation.
• Must-have: Practical experience integrating verification environments with build and regression systems; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, FPGA prototyping, hardware bring-up, or knowledge of common protocols (PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet).
• Nice-to-have: Experience mentoring others and working in cross-functional teams on SoC projects.
