ASIC Digital Synthesis Engineer
Nordic SemiconductorJob Title
ASIC Digital Synthesis Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Wi‑Fi SoC group to deliver digital implementation flows and contribute to Nordic Semiconductor’s next-generation low-power Wi‑Fi chips. You will work with the Chip Synthesis and Static Check (CSSC) team to improve synthesis, timing closure, and signoff flows used for tape-outs.
Experience Level
Mid-level / Experienced - the role expects several years of chip implementation experience (posting describes an experienced candidate).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and verification of digital implementations.
- Develop, refine, and validate timing constraints for accurate implementation and timing analysis.
- Perform RTL-to-gate logic synthesis and optimize designs for performance, power, and area.
- Conduct comprehensive static timing analysis (STA) across operating conditions and process corners.
- Drive timing closure activities, including implementing and evaluating ECOs.
- Perform logic equivalence checking between RTL, synthesized netlists, and post-ECO implementations.
- Execute low-power verification and analysis to meet power intent specifications.
- Collaborate with DFT to integrate test structures and achieve manufacturable, testable silicon.
- Partner with digital design and architecture teams to translate design intent and meet functional and timing objectives.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Demonstrable knowledge of digital synthesis and static timing analysis (STA).
- Several years of experience in chip implementation and RTL-to-gate flows.
- Experience with Synopsys and Cadence implementation, verification, and signoff tools.
- Experience contributing to flow development and setup (automation, signoff flow integration).
- Scripting skills (TCL, Perl, Python or similar) for flow automation and debug.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience using AI-assisted EDA tools or AI-driven workflows to improve productivity.
- Hands-on experience with low-power verification methodologies and power intent.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering or a similar field (the posting specifies BSc/MSc in Electronics Engineering or similar).
