ASIC Digital Design Senior Manager
Role Summary
Manage and lead a team of ASIC digital design engineers in Sunnyvale responsible for RTL design, synthesis, timing closure, and delivery of production-ready silicon. Work cross-functionally with verification, physical design, product management, and customers to deliver scheduled, high-quality ASIC products.
Accountable for people management, technical direction, project planning, and risk mitigation for multiple design projects.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires progressive ASIC digital design experience and prior engineering management responsibility (commonly 8+ years total experience).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead and grow a team of digital design engineers; hire, mentor, and perform performance management.
- Set technical direction for digital architecture and RTL implementation across projects.
- Oversee RTL design, code reviews, synthesis, timing closure, and integration with physical design and verification flows.
- Coordinate cross-functional schedules, manage project risks, and drive issues to resolution to meet tapeout milestones.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables.
- Improve development processes, design quality, and engineering efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:

Must-have: Extensive experience in ASIC digital design (RTL using Verilog/VHDL), synthesis, timing analysis/closure, and familiarity with EDA tool flows (Synopsys tools preferred).

Must-have: Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing project schedules and deliverables.

Must-have: Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across verification, physical design, and product teams.

Nice-to-have: Experience with low-power design techniques, high-speed IO/SerDes, DFT, or system-level architecture tradeoffs.

Nice-to-have: Prior experience working with customers on requirements and silicon bring-up.
