Job Title
ASIC DFT Technical Leader
Role Summary
Lead DFT (Design for Test) technical efforts for high-performance networking ASICs in the Silicon One development organization. Work across front-end RTL and backend physical design teams to define and drive DFT requirements through implementation, signoff, and post-silicon validation.
Experience Level
Senior β requires at least 10 years of relevant DFT, test, or silicon engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities span DFT architecture, tool flows, implementation, and post-silicon validation.
- Define and drive DFT requirements early with front-end RTL and backend physical design teams.
- Architect and integrate scan, BIST (including memory BIST and boundary scan), and JTAG solutions.
- Lead ATPG and EDA tool flows (TestMax/Tetramax/Tessent, PrimeTime) through implementation and signoff.
- Perform gate-level simulation and debug using VCS or similar simulators; support test-timing verification.
- Plan and execute post-silicon validation and debug, including ATE patterns and P1687 usage.
- Collaborate on physical-design signoff activities and test static timing analysis.
- Establish DFT methodology, infrastructure, and best practices; mentor engineering teams.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required and preferred.
-
Must-have: 10+ years of experience in DFT, test, or silicon engineering; experience with JTAG, scan architectures, BIST (memory and boundary scan); ATPG and industry EDA tools such as TestMax, Tetramax, Tessent tool sets, and PrimeTime; gate-level simulation and debug (VCS or equivalent); post-silicon validation and working with ATE patterns and P1687.
-
Nice-to-have: Verilog experience for custom DFT logic and IP integration; DFT CAD development (test architecture, methodology, infrastructure); test static timing analysis; SystemVerilog logic equivalency checking and validating test timing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
