ASIC Design Verification Intern

Role Summary

Join the Tessent Embedded Analytics engineering team within Siemens EDA to support development and verification of silicon IP for next-generation semiconductor products. This internship involves hands-on verification work, debugging, and collaboration with experienced engineers in an international team.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship suitable for current students or recent graduates (student status required or recent graduate eligibility specified).

Responsibilities

The intern will assist the verification and development team with tasks that support product quality and delivery.

  • Support design, development, modification, and implementation of silicon IP blocks.
  • Assist verification engineers in validating silicon IP using industry-standard methodologies and EDA tools.
  • Participate in debugging, testing, and quality assurance for released products.
  • Contribute to process improvement for development and verification workflows.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary, international engineering teams on silicon projects.
  • Gain exposure to RTL-based design methodologies and verification environments.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal attributes for successful performance in the internship.

  • Basic knowledge of digital design and RTL languages (preferably Verilog).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Good communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Motivation to learn and contribute in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • International applicants must have a valid visa/work permit; Siemens does not provide visa or permit support.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to EDA simulators and verification tools such as Questa, VCS, or Xcelium.
  • Basic understanding of synthesis and timing closure concepts.
  • Knowledge of scripting (preferably Python).
  • Understanding of multi-clock design and clock-domain crossing techniques.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree or a recent graduate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (student enrollment or recent graduate status required).
