Job Title

ASIC Design Verification Engineer I

Role Summary

Entry-level verification engineer on the Silicon One team responsible for developing and executing design verification for ASIC blocks used in switching, routing, and wireless platforms. The role focuses on building and maintaining DV environments, creating testbenches, driving regression/debug, and working with designers and cross-functional teams to close verification for modules.

Experience Level

Entry-level - new graduates or engineers with up to approximately 3 years of relevant ASIC or verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary day-to-day responsibilities include developing verification infrastructure and validating ASIC modules to closure.

  • Collaborate with verification engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to integrate ASIC blocks.
  • Maintain and enhance existing design verification (DV) environments.
  • Construct testbenches including scoreboards, agents, sequencers, and monitors for new blocks.
  • Write test plans, develop test cases, run regressions, debug failures, and drive module verification closure.
  • Implement and review code and functional coverage to ensure complete verification coverage.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience for candidates.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
  • Must-have: Experience with functional coverage and constrained-random verification.
  • Must-have: Ability to build testbenches from scratch (scoreboards, agents, sequencers, monitors; SystemVerilog constraints, structures, classes).
  • Must-have: Scripting experience in Perl and/or Python for automation and regression control.
  • Must-have: Experience in ASIC engineering or verification workflows and debugging regression failures.
  • Must-have: Effective verbal and written communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to large-scale switching/routing or wireless ASIC projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in ASIC Design, Design Verification, or a related field. Degree is expected or completed within the past 3 years (candidates graduating within the next 12 months are included).
