ASIC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement verification environments and test suites for complex ASIC blocks, subsystems and full-chip designs. Work on verification for networking ASICs, collaborate with logic designers and software teams, and drive tape-out readiness in an HPE engineering team based primarily at the Bengaluru office.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 5+ years of ASIC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Architect and build block-, subsystem- and full-chip verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Define, design and execute verification suites and test cases using front-end simulators (e.g. VCS, NC).
- Perform code coverage, functional coverage and gate-level simulation analysis to assess tape-out readiness.
- Collaborate with logic designers to debug and resolve design issues and work with software teams during bring-up and validation.
- Develop scripts and tools (Perl, Python, Shell, Tcl) to automate verification infrastructure and regression flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of ASIC verification experience.
- Strong experience with SystemVerilog for verification.
- Experience with constrained-random verification techniques.
- Hands-on experience with verification methodologies such as UVM, OVM or VMM.
- Proficiency in scripting (Perl, Tcl, Python, or Shell); Perl/Tcl preferred.
- Experience verifying networking protocols such as Ethernet is a plus.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE) is specified.
