ASIC Design Verification Engineer, Amazon Leo
AmazonJob Title
ASIC Design Verification Engineer, Amazon Leo
Role Summary
Work on digital SoCs for Amazon Leo, a low Earth orbit satellite network project that provides broadband connectivity. The role focuses on verification of communication-system chips (modem and RF/PHY interfaces) across simulation, FPGA, and emulation platforms.
You'll implement verification environments, develop and run regressions, perform formal and system-level verification, and collaborate with design and communications teams to ensure functional correctness.
Experience Level
Mid-level - the role expects around 5 years of relevant verification experience based on the posted qualifications.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement verification environments that test RTL against reference Matlab/C models.
- Develop detailed test plans, write tests, run regressions, and report progress.
- Write C/C++ tests for execution on embedded CPUs and create tests for FPGA and emulation platforms.
- Perform formal verification of complex blocks to ensure functional correctness.
- Work with design and communication-systems teams on system-level verification using UVM, SystemC, and DPI-C.
- Build and maintain automated regression infrastructure and organize verification databases.
Requirements
Core technical requirements and preferred skills.
- Must-have: ~5 years of verification experience, including experience with UVM, C, SystemC, and scripting.
- Must-have: Practical experience writing tests for embedded CPUs and for FPGA/emulation platforms.
- Must-have: Experience developing testbenches and running automated regression suites; familiarity with DPI-C and system-level verification flows.
- Must-have: Experience with verification in communication systems is strongly preferred.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Matlab/model-based verification, modem design verification, or development of SystemC/Matlab models for DV integration.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of formal verification techniques and prior use of emulation/FPGAs at scale.
- Nice-to-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical/Communications Engineering or related disciplines is preferred. (No explicit mention of acceptable equivalents was provided.)
